Unfortunately, this period of fame also draws a multitude of individuals and entities seeking your attention, including financial managers, brands, family members, and others. It's essential to recognize that not all of them have your best interests at heart; many are primarily concerned with their own gain.

Your primary role as an athlete centers around honing your physical and mental abilities to excel in your chosen sport. It's perfectly understandable if you're not as well-versed in financial matters.

In my view, it falls upon individuals like myself to help you build a successful life off the field, both during your career and after retirement.

Unfortunately, many individuals and firms in my industry are aware that athletes often do not pay close attention to who is managing their finances, handling their taxes, and handling other critical aspects of their lives outside of sports. Instead, they often entrust these responsibilities to family members, advisors recommended by someone else, or other less-than-ideal choices.

Let me make this clear: If you, as an athlete, don't fully understand something and make an uninformed decision, it's not your fault.
